Before starting the installation, check if all the items are included inside the product box, as shown in the topics below.
NOTE: The supports, screws, and nuts associated with attaching the panel to the pivot are not included in the SmartConnect panel box. These are provided by Bauer when purchasing the panel and pivot.
1 - Product components
The components that must be included in the box are:
- 01 SmartConnect G2 Panel;
- 02 Supports for SmartConnect;
- 04 Clamps already screwed to the SmartConnect Panel;
- 08 Screws M10X30;
- 08 Nuts;
2 - Mechanical Installation
Support Identification
The SmartConnect Panel's support has the necessary angles so that the Panel is correctly positioned in the Center Tower of the pivot.
Support Assembly
Place the SmartConnect support with the bottom resting on the first corner of the pivot's center and the top on the second corner, as shown in the picture below. Insert the screws in the upper and lower holes and the nuts with the help of a fork wrench.
Repeat the procedure for the second panel's support, skipping a hole from the top and bottom angle brackets, according to the following picture.
SmartConnect Assembly
Screw the SmartConnect to the bracket using the panel clamps, as shown in the pictures below.
2 - Electrical Installation
Power Supply
The panel's power supply comes from the fixation of the three-phase power supply cables that will provide energy to the pivot. Normally, these wires transfer from 440 to 500V, but it can vary depending on the region where the installation will be done.
Open the two doors of the SmartConnect panel and remove the lower cover from the wires management channel, as shown in the pictures below.
With the power turned off, unscrew the first cable gland and pass the four three-phase power supply wires (along with grounding), according to the following picture.
With the wires bare, connect the four wires (along with grounding) to the terminals located on the lower left part inside the panel, as shown below.
Adjust the correct Tap according to the Farm network, by inserting Wire 15 in the position according to the Transformer, from within the SmartConnect Panel.
Multiconductor Wires
Multi-conductor wires are those that leave the pivot slip ring and enter the electrical panel. These wires are responsible for controlling all pivot functions.
Pass the wires through the second cable gland at the bottom of the panel (picture below), just like the power supply wires were passed.
Follow the "Panel's Electrical Diagram" to connect the wires according to the colors of the multiconductor wires. There are 11 multiconductor wires (4 of the engines and 7 of the commands).
Connect the engine's Grounding Cable to the panel's Grounding Strip, as shown in the picture below.
Pressure Switch Wires
Pass the wires through the third cable gland at the bottom of the panel (picture below), just like the power supply wires and the multiconductor wires were passed.
Follow the "Panel's Electrical Diagram" to connect the pressure switch wires.
Pumping Wires
Pass the wires through the forth cable gland at the bottom of the panel (picture below), just like the power supply wires and the multiconductor wires were passed.
Follow the "Panel's Electrical Diagram" to connect the pumping wires.
Turning on the circuit breakers
Turn on the circuit breakers positioned at the top left part inside the panel, as shown in the following pictures.
